BIDDING PRAYERS
SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
Priest: Rejoicing because Jesus goes to the Father, yet leaves us his peace and promises the Holy Spirit, let us intercede:
Reader: For the Church; That the Church may rejoice in that diversity which is born of the Holy Spirit. May the Church discern the Spirit’s presence in the diversity of the world’s cultures and gladly enter into communion with all who seek the Lord.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For leaders of the Church; For Pope Francis, called to serve the Church: may he feed the Lord’s flock and follow wherever Christ beckons.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For the world; That upon all wo work for unity among the nations, the Holy Spirit may bestow that peace which the world cannot give.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For those whose hearts are troubled and afraid; may their fear and anxiety be overcome by the peace Jesus gives to us.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For our Parish; That as we celebrate Jesus’ return to the Father, we may experience the Lord among us always in peace and in the Spirit.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: Let us remember especially today (Jim & Lesley Morris, Vigil Mass); (In Thanksgiving for the blessing of life, 9.30 am Mass); (Diane Harvey 11am Mass); (The Parish, 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.
And also, all the faithful departed, especially Winnie Boyes, Eileen Turton,
Michael Francis Hehir and Harry Pressman who have died recently; may they be raised up on the last day.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause). In this month of May we ask Mary, our Mother, to join her prayers to ours: Hail Mary …
Priest: God Our Father, hear these petitions which your people place before you on this day. May we grow in an ever deeper appreciation of his real presence among us. We make all our prayers through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
