THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST

Priest:             As we bless God the Most High, let us offer intercession for the needs of all in the name of Jesus, the compassionate Saviour.

Reader:           For Pope Francis and all the leaders of the Church;  may they bear witness to the compassion of Christ for the multitude, never sending anyone away, but gladly offering to all the word of God and the bread of life.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           On this “Day for Life” we thank God for the gift of life; in a special we pray for the elderly and infirm that they will be respected as valued members of the community

                        Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           For our government and all those who are elected to serve our communities; may they pay heed to Our Lord’s invocation to unity and seek ways to serve the common good.

Reader:           That the hungry and homeless, those starved for daily bread or human dignity, may find in the disciples of Christ generous stewards of God’s bountiful gifts.

Reader:           For all father on this “Fathers’ Day”;  may they thank God for the gift of their children and may they be inspired by St  Joseph in their support of their children.

Reader:           We pray for our children who receive their First Holy Communion for the first time this weekend and those preparing for Confirmation; may the Lord bless them and their families with the gift of faith.

Reader:           Let us remember especially today (Gerald Wareing, Vigil Mass); (The Parish, 9.30 am Mass); (Annie, Jack & John Jenkins, 11.30am Mass); (Betty Sumner, 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.

And also, all the Holy Souls and all those who have died recently, especially Joan Costello,  Joseph William Brookbank, Gerard Melling, Canon Moss O’Connell and  William Atta Gyimah; may they rest in peace and rise in glory.

Reader:           Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause).   We ask Mary, our Mother, to join with us in our prayers: Hail Mary …

Priest:             Heavenly Father, your Son displayed your love and mercy in feeding the 5000. We ask that you hear and grant these needs which we present today. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
