BIDDING PRAYERS
5TH SUNDAY OF LENT; 3 April 2022
Priest: Let us offer our intercessions to our heavenly Father who is abounding in mercy and compassion for His children.
Reader: For Pope Francis and all the leaders of our Church; may they lead with humility and mercy and seek to protect the vulnerable and the least.
Lord in your mercy ……………………………….Hear our prayer
Reader: For peace in our world, especially in Ukraine at the present time; may world leaders recognise the call of God to mercy rather than vengeance.
Lord in your mercy ……………………………….Hear our prayer
Reader: For those forced to flee from their homes; may we all respond with kindness and hospitality to those who seek refuge in fear and heartbreak.
Lord in your mercy ……………………………….Hear our prayer
Reader: For victims of abuse and oppression; may they receive the support they need to move beyond the brokenness of betrayal and persevere toward healing and wholeness.
Lord in your mercy ……………………………….Hear our prayer
Reader: For our Parish; may we recognise the mercy of Christ and strive to refrain from judgement and accusation of others but rather unite together as a company of sinners who are all invited to this Eucharistic feast
Lord in your mercy ……………………………….Hear our prayer
Reader: Let us remember especially today (Watson Family, Vigil Mass); (The Parish, 9.30 am Mass); (Gerald Baron & Deceased Family 11am Mass); (Peter Gent, 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.
Also, those who have died recently, especially John Russell Keany, John Thorpe and Fr John McNamara; may they, and all the faithful departed, be received into the joy of heaven.
Lord in your mercy ……………………………….Hear our prayer
Reader: Let us pray for our own personal intentions; (pause). We ask Mary, our Mother, to join her prayers to ours: Hail Mary …
Priest: God Our Father, hear these petitions which your people place before you on this day. Help us to recognise your love for us, most of all through the Paschal Mystery of your Son, who lives and reigns for ever and ever Amen.
