BIDDING PRAYERS:  Word Doc:  220320 3Lent

3rd SUNDAY OF LENT; 20th March 2022

Priest:             Let us offer our prayers to our God who Moses encountered in the burning bush: the one who is the source of all being;

Reader:          For the Church; may all the baptised people of God engage in the penance and renewal of this holy season of Lent

                        Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For leaders of the Church; may they lead with humility and mercy and seek to protect the vulnerable and the least.

                        Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For peace in our world, especially in Ukraine at the present time; that God will turn the hearts of leaders of nations to seek ways of dialogue and diplomacy to solve disputes and conflicts.

                        Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For those forced to flee from their homes; may we all respond with kindness and hospitality to those who seek refuge in fear and heartbreak.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For those who suffer from anxiety or depression; may they know the presence of God in their lives through those who reach out to support them.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          For our Parish; may we use this sacred time to cultivate and fertilise our faith so that the community around us may blossom and flourish in a new springtime of the fullness of life.

                        Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          Let us remember especially today (Elizabeth Prescott: Vigil Mass); (Roy Wilde: 9.30 am Mass); (Barbara Moon: 11am Mass); (The Parish: 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.

Also, all the faithful departed, especially those who have died recently, including, June Gent and Fr Patrick Quinlan; may they be raised up on the last day.

Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us

Reader:          Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause).   We ask Mary, our Mother, to join her prayers to ours: Hail Mary …

Priest:             Heavenly Father, we entreat you this day with these and all our prayers which we offer now upon your altar, through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
