BIDDING PRAYERS:  WORD DOC:  220710 15C

15TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME:  SEA SUNDAY

Priest:             Let us ask our God of compassion to hear and help us as we offer our prayers for the world, our community and ourselves.

Reader:           We pray for the Church, for our Holy Father Pope Francis, for our Bishops, Priests and Deacons, and for those who serve as chaplains, and all volunteers of Stella Maris, Apostleship of the Sea; may they continue to make Christ present to the world.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           Let us pray for all governments and international bodies; that God may grant them the wisdom and integrity to enact laws that promote the welfare of all people and all those, whose rights and dignity are too often overlooked.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           Let us pray for all those on the margins of society: the poor, prisoners, the unborn and the elderly, those injured in accidents, and for those who are ill-treated and frightened; may we all strive to support them as our neighbours, following the example of the Good Samaritan.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           For those coming to the end of the academic year; may they reflect on the many graces received during this year and may those coming to the end of their time at a school or period of study move on to the next stage of their lives with the confidence that God walks with them.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           We pray for our own parish community; may we strive to build a community where all people, from all backgrounds, feel welcome, accepted and supported.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           Let us remember especially today (Agnes Doreen Singleton, Vigil Mass); (The Parish, 9.30 am Mass); (Christopher Tipping, 11.00am Mass); (Frank Bevan, 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.

And also, all the Holy Souls and all those who have died recently, especially Gerard Melling, Thomas Counsell, Paul Towey, Ron Sharples, Anthony Towey, Brenda Allen & Fr Dermott Donnelly.  May they rest in peace and rise in glory.

Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us

Reader:           Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause).   We ask Mary, our Mother, to join with us in our prayers: Hail Mary …

Priest:             Heavenly Father, God of love and compassion, you turn towards your people in their need, listen to the prayers we make, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
