Fundraising for the Syrian Refugee Sponsorship Programme
On the evening of Friday 28 February 2020, parishioners from St Mary’s,
Brownedge; Our Lady of Lourdes and St Gerard’s; and many parishioners from
parishes across the Diocese, together with friends, enjoyed a wonderful evening to
fundraise for the St Mary’s, Brownedge Syrian Refugee Sponsorship Programme.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by the amazing Mercy Brothers Priest
Rock Band, a group of six Priests from across the Salford Diocese who performed
popular songs with a message of redemption by artists such as Bob Dylan, U2, Neil
Diamond, The Proclaimers and many more. The band’s members include Fr Mark
Harold (St Mary’s, Brownedge) and Fr Joe Gee (Our Lady of Lourdes and St Gerard
Majella, Lostock Hall).
A great evening, which included a hotpot supper and raffle, was enjoyed by all in
support of such a worthy cause. Thanks to the Mercy Brothers and we look forward
to welcoming them again soon!
