BIDDING PRAYERS
LORD JESUS CHRIST, UNIVERSAL KING
Priest: Let us pray to God in the name of Jesus, the ruler of the kings of earth, whose dominion is everlasting and whose kingship shall never be destroyed.
Reader: For the Church; that Christians may imitate Jesus their king by renouncing worldly power and bearing witness to Christ’s kingdom of justice, love and peace.
Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For all peoples of earth; that those who govern nations and guide the destinies of peoples, may listen to the voice of Truth and seek the paths of peace and justice.
Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For young people; on this Youth Sunday may they be inspired by the teaching of Jesus and aspire to live their lives in the light of His love.
Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For those who feel powerless in the face of life’s difficulties; may they find helping hands and loving hearts in our community.
Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For those Christians who suffer persecution; may we all strive to support them and build a world which does not tolerate religious discrimination.
Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us
Reader: Let us remember especially today (Fr John McKeown: Vigil Mass); (Bernadette Ryles: 9.30am Mass); (Brendan Smyth: 11.00am Mass) (The Parish: 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.
And also, all the faithful departed, especially, Margaret Hooton, James Roland Parkinson, Linda Malliband and Marie Teresa Burton who have died recently. May they be raised up on the last day.
Lord hear us ……………………………….Lord graciously hear us
Reader: Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause). We ask Mary, our Mother, to intercede on our behalf: Hail Mary …
Priest: Father, in your mercy, accept the prayers we make for ourselves, our community and our world. We make our prayers through Christ, our harbour of peace. Amen.
