BIDDING PRAYERS: SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER. 29th May 2022
Priest: Jesus prayed that we would all be one; let us now unite ourselves in prayer by presenting our common petitions to the Father.
Reader: For Pope Francis and all the leaders of the Church; may they be granted the grace and strength they need to be faithful and inspiring servants of the Lord in their challenging ministry.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For our government and all those who are elected to serve our communities; may they pay heed to Our Lord’s invocation to unity and seek ways to serve the common good.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For the victims of the school shooting in Texas; may their families and the wider community be consoled in their grief and anguish by the Lord, and may our society seek ways to make safe and protect everyone, especially those who are most vulnerable.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For those who suffer from anxiety, depression or other unseen illnesses; may the Holy Spirit come upon them bringing healing and renewal so that they can experience wellness in mind and spirit.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: For our Parish; may we join fervently with the disciples in this time of prayer so that we may be renewed with the fire of the Holy Spirit this Pentecost, becoming truly missionary and intentional disciples of the Lord.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: Let us remember especially today (Gerald Wareing, Vigil Mass); (The Parish: 9.30 am Mass); (Sr Mary Higney: 11am Mass); (Lorna Bentley: 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.
And also, all the Holy Souls and all those who have died recently, especially Winnie Boyes, Eileen Turton, Michael Francis Hehir, Harry Pressman, Carl Molloy, and May Smith; may they rest in peace and rise in glory.
Lord hear us …………….………………………Lord graciously hear us
Reader: Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause). We ask Mary, our Mother, to join with us in our prayers: Hail Mary …
Priest: Heavenly Father, your Son invoked your name in prayer while here on earth among us, we now follow his pattern and offer you these prayers. We ask that you hear and grant them, through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
