BIDDING PRAYERS:  32nd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

7th November 2021

Priest:             Let us now place before Our Heavenly Father prayers of intercession for the Church, our world, our local community and our own personal needs.

Reader:          For the Church; may Francis our Pope and John our bishop be given the strength and courage to lead God’s people in truth and integrity.

Lord in your mercy; hear our prayer.

Reader:          We pray for the Climate Change Conference in Glasgow; may the leaders of all nations recognise the need to transform the way we live so that we will show proper care for our common home.

Lord in your mercy; hear our prayer.

Reader:          For all peoples of earth: that nations may recognise the need to be generous and facilitate an effective distribution of the earth’s produce and resources, seeking to provide especially for those in most need.

Lord in your mercy; hear our prayer.

Reader:          For those who are facing stress or anxiety: may they receive support from the Lord and his people, giving them the confidence and strength to overcome that which burdens them.

Lord in your mercy; hear our prayer.

Reader:          For the gift of peace; may we recognise that peace begins in our own lives by leaving aside gossip and harsh words and becoming people of generosity and gratitude

Lord in your mercy; hear our prayer.

Reader:          Let us remember especially today (Bernard Raby Vigil Mass); (The Parish 9.30am Mass); (Ken Lofthouse and deceased parishioners of the past year 11.00am Mass) (Patrick Flood 6.30pm) for whom this Mass is offered.

We pray for all the Holy Souls and all those who have died recently, especially Brendan Smyth, Bernadette Ryles, Margaret Riley, Eileen Rogers and Sr Gertrude Standring; may they rest in peace.

Lord in your mercy; hear our prayer.

Reader:          Let us pray for our own private intentions; (pause).   We ask Mary, our Mother, to intercede on our behalf: Hail Mary …

Priest:             Father, in your mercy, hear the prayers of your people as we gather for this celebration of Eucharist; We make our prayers through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
